Purpose: I wanted to see if I could make a game, any game. And I thought that a rock-paper-scissors game would be the simplest type. So I picked Godot as an engine and was surprised how simple it was to start. I used an asset pack from PixelFrog and that set my theme. And I previously had purchased a pack of sound effects for Aftermovies and picked some appropriate sounds from there.

Purpose: First I wanted to try and learn how to make procedural mazes and had a completely different idea in mind. But I got inspired by the asset pack I got from kenney.nl and pivoted into a different game. So now I'm actually making a quite elaborate maze game where I named the main character Kenney, in honor of the asset pack provider, and he's got claustrophobia. And as the game progresses the claustrophobia gets worse and the walls start to crawl in, as the maze gets more complex. Every so often there's a checkpoint where you can spend coins you've collected to purchase assisting items to make it further into the maze.

Purpose: This game is supposed to be a gift for the wonderful people at the doggy daycare where I leave my dogs when I'm at work. I used more assets from kenney.nl that suited the minimalistic game I wanted to make, but also created my own pixel sprites. The game is about picking up dog poop and throwing it in the trash can. Simple as that. More complex mechanics are planned, but not entirely sure what they'll be; some sort of progression system perhaps.

Purpose: I participated in Interstellar Game Jam 6 and the theme was "Isolation". The purprose for participating was purely to participate in a game jam to see what it is like. It is not for me. There were factors that I did not enjoy, like the time crunch, the extended focus on one thing, and the limited ability to vary my engagements. It took the passion from something I enjoyed and turned it into a job or a chore, something that HAD to be done, not something I wanted to work on at that moment.
The game itself turned out OK, but with a lot of things lacking, such as audio, and better assets, and a core mechanic not working in later levels. This was fixed after the jam ended. But I started out with an asset pack from kenney.nl and worked from there. The simple idea is to grow bacteria in a petri dish and isolate it from other microbes using acid, bass, and saline to push affect all the microbes in the dish.
I also incorporated a liquid shader, to make everything in the dish look like it's in water, but it doesn't work on web 🫤

Purpose: I saw this YouTube video from the channel Games4two a while back, and for some reason my brain went back to it recently. I now learned that this is a game called Shut The Box, which has been played in pubs and on boats for a really long time. I've also learned that there are a lot of variations of this game, with different amount of numbers or starting conditions. I just wanted to make a basic version.
The game itself is built entirely without any image assets of any kind, and it's basically a big CSS-setup in Godot, using buttons, panels, and labels. But I did turn to me regular source of assets again, as I found a recently published Casino Audio pack from kenney.nl
